Milo is best experienced rather than explained. 

His art single-handedly drove my perception of the world.

The musical approach to combating racism is something young me really needed.

Influences from the outside world can easily lead one from a noble path (see: today's youth)

So having a role model such as Milo in my younger years was a blessing.

I found Milo via Busdriver (another excellent artist in the same vein)

But Milo's music struck a more personal chord than Busdriver, for some reason. 

I recommend listening to "Who Told You To Think??!!?!?!?!" if you want a good starting point.

Dance Gavin Dance is a band that has been through multiple iterations.

I discovered them at the release of their song Inspire The Liars, which was mid-Tilian era.

Depending on the point you listen in their discography, you'll find a couple different vocalists.

The genre Swancore is named after Will Swan, their lead guitarist. It's for good reason.

Mothership (pictured left) is the first album I heard and my favorite album they've released.

The band showed me that changing parts of a whole does not always change the whole.

It's also the first band I personally found, I grew up on my dad's style of rock so this was a very significant development for me. I tried to learn unclean vocals for a WHILE lol

BIG LAX is one of my favorite artists of all time.

Averaging a few thousand monthly listeners, he's not exactly famous by any definition.

The lack of following is kind of part of the magic. This is not to be parasocial at all, but...

Artists at these lower listener numbers feel so much more approachable.

The talent is measurable, something to strive to match or even to improve beyond!

In making my own music, I've taken TONS of inspiration from people just like LAX.

Funnily enough, most people I try to share his music with aren't into it. To each their own.

I recommend his albums "THE LIF3 OF BIG LAX" and "MY DEMONS LOOK JUST LIKE ME!"
